Class Results

What a lovely day at such a well run show, the Championship show was run at the same time as the Open, but with no hitches of having to wait for dogs to go from one ring or class to another, very impressively ran throughout, I would imagine it took a lot of thought, preparation and hard work, beautiful rosettes, and a very welcoming committee. Great sportsmanship from the exhibitors, and some lovely dogs who in most had not become to the scissor's treatment. Also not forgetting my hard working Steward Neil Hood who kept me in trim and the ring running smoothly throughout the day. Thank for the honour of being your judge today, I enjoyed my day immensely.

Best Baby Puppy Dog

At nearly 5 months old this young baby boy stood well with a very gentle head piece, clear tight dark eyes, giving a slightly mischievous glint, but stood so well for me to go over him, finding good bone, tight well webbed feet, well held topline, correct length of tail, the slippery floor did not do him any favours, but he did try to move on it, but the floor won I'm afraid, but pleased to give him first, although he stood alone. Best Baby Puppy Dog.

At a month off of 11 years of age this this black boy could certainly teach the youngsters a thing or two, with a very gentle expression from small tight dark brown eyes, although they are now beginning to show his age in brightness, he could still smile from them, small in ear of correct level to brow of eye, teeth still in correct order and clean, scissor bite, well muscled in neck, leading to well laid shoulders and straight well boned forelegs, good length in back which was broad and strong and level. Powerful rear well let down in strong hocks which powered him around the ring. He was in wonderful condition in body, muscle and coat, a credit to his owner. This boy was still going as strong if not even stronger in the challenge to win RBD & BVIS.

2nd Dickson's Zentaur Der Kapitan Wisperdomen, JW ShCM ShCEx VW

A 9 year old male which in no way could be ignored, as he had a lovely head with all the right attributes with a dark oval shaped eye, well placed ears, nice broad muzzle, well open in nostrils and black pigmentation all through, well held topline and moved well just not the muscles or power of movement of first.

  • Class Winner: Vodahond Arlo
1st Burton's Vodahond Arlo

6 months old lad coming on nicely for his age, with a good head which was with nice eye colour and of oval shape, with I suspect teething going on needs to tighten in eye rims, and in mouth scissor bite, needs time for the broadness and maturity all through and I am sure it will all come, still very much a baby in every way, he moved well, and in lovely coat.

At 11 months old this young boy is total at the correct point in growth and maturity, in my view, with a kind small dark eye, of correct shape, small, tight to head well placed ears, good length of neck which was well muscled on to good length of shoulder, and upper arm which in turn gave him good extension front and back, good straight forelegs along with good length and nice bone. Well held topline and was held on the move, strong in rear movement, for one so young he was to me, very impressive. BPIS.

2nd Leech's Mileoak Utah Beach

Coming up to a year old in a few days, again nice head but looser in eye and mouth than first, this white and black had a decent lay of shoulder and well muscled in the neck, had good angulation all through, held on to topline whilst in movement tended to drop it slightly on standing, but still a baby and not as mature as first.

Best Brown DogBest Brown in ShowBest Dog in ShowBest in Show

A brown 13 months old lad, my notes say 'very impressed' tall dog with nothing overdone, good head with a brown and with the tightest of eyes and of nice oval shape, with the gentleness that is this breed, the head is still maturing but all is there to do it with, small in ear with them lying close to the head, set just above eyebrow level, tight in mouth covering a good scissor bite, good lay of shoulders and good bone throughout, well webbed feet, nicely rounded tight and cat like, withers and elbows in total line with one another and forelegs straight and with muscle, topline level and strong which was held on movement and on standing, nice broad croup with a slight slope on to correct tail set which in turn gave a correct tail carriage in movement, strong in hocks which were well let down, just strong steady movement, nothing flashy about this lad at all and well handled throughout, and a pleasure to watch. BD & BIS.

  • Class Winner: President Cancrimo at Mollynewf (Imp Pol)
1st Taylor's President Cancrimo at Mollynewf (Imp Pol)

A brown lad of 19 months, still a lot of maturing to do in this lad but nevertheless, nice in head with correct scissor bite with good eye shape, and colour with being a brown coated dog, tight in lips. I would like a bit more bone and broadness throughout, but he moved well, holding a decent tail, I think dog and handler could do with some ringcraft to give a better impression of both in the ring.

2nd Aplin's Green Pearl Under The Stars avec Angelscove (Imp Fra)

At nearly two years old, this boy had a lovely shaped head but was loose in eye and heaver in head, good colour of eye being dark, and small in ear which was of good shape, would like more muscle all through, and stronger topline.

Best White & Black DogBest White & Black in Show

A White and Black lad of 2 years old, I have judged this lad before and I liked him as a puppy, and I have still the same mind, he is so well balanced with a lovely head of correct proportions, dark eye with the correct ratio of nose to stop and slightly less to occiput, with a nice broad head and good ear set, this boy has taken a while to mature, as it should be with giant breeds, and in doing so all has matured evenly throughout himself, strong and well muscled in neck on to shoulders, level topline, broad in back, well boned in legs, moved well at the correct unhurried speed showing the power in his rear.

2nd Carter's Zentaur The Fizz Factor, ShCEx

Black boy of 3 years old with a lovely kind head with the gentle appearance and correct eye shape and colour, ears set on well and close to head, correct scissor bite with nice tight lips, clean in neck and good width of chest well held topline, straight in movement out and back, different day different result.

3rd Steels' Nurburgnewf Ironman

This 3 year old brown boy was with good head which was well balanced all through and giving the correct colour and shape, good bone all through and broadness across back which was mostly contributed by the bit of weight he was carrying.

  • Class Winner: Zentaur Fizzical Therapy
1st Owles & Bristow's Zentaur Fizzical Therapy

A small boy of 3½ years old but perfectly formed, lovely head with soft eyes of correct colour and shape with tight ears at correct set, clean teeth and good scissor bite, decent lay of shoulders and well muscled legs and well held strong top line and powerful back end movement, well webbed tight feet and strong bone throughout. Moved out and back well, good tail length, good coat well tuned out.

2nd Arkell's Grimm Black Cullinan for Cannark

Just coming up to 5 years of age this boy had a nice head with all the correct attributes all through, nice eye set and colour, and correct ratio of head from nose to between eyes and for there to occiput giving a good balance of head, correct scissor bite, just could not match the movement of first.

3rd Hunt's Zentaur Jam Master Joy

A brown lad of 3½ years of age, with good head with correct eye placement and colour, a little short in muzzle, to the measure of the slightly arched crown, a little more stop than required, but still has the gentle soft expression, good bone throughout, and well held topline on the move and standing.

  • Class Winner: Sandbears Twenty Two
1st Blake's Sandbears Twenty Two

Black boy with splashes of white on chest and feet, head with all the correct proportions with good eye colour and correct eye and ear set, giving the correct noble appearance, good strong neck on to powerful shoulders supporting strong forelegs and tight well webbed feet, well held topline and powerful hind quarters giving him good power to send him around the ring, but at 2½ I would have liked a bit more maturity of him over all, time will tell as he's still young for this breed.

2nd Chapman's Ch. Nandobears You'll Never Walk Alone (Imp Deu)

At nearly 2½ years old I can understand how he's become a champion, but he wasn't a happy chappie today, and I was told later that the bitches were to his liking, good in head with correct eye and ear placement and strong in shoulders and straight in front for legs, big powerful feet well webbed, topline well held but dropped when standing, his mind just was not on the job in hand today.

3rd Black's Lux. Ch., Ch. Gunnersnewfs Black Desire for Blackcoast

A 5 year old lad who was again I think was thinking of other things, nice head with decent measurements all through to award the balance he had overall and strong bone, white splashes on rear toes, moved ok, he just did not seem to concentrate on what was being asked of him.

3rd Thompson's Comfortcove You Can Fly to Safeharbour

A 4 year old boy who had a good eye would just like them a bit tighter as showing haw, good bone with broad withers and loins, strong in hocks and moved well within himself.

A 5 month old black bitch of her quality beginning to come through already, a soft expression with a dark well shaped small eyes, tight ear set, scissor bite, level topline good shoulder lay, and tight feet. Still fairly lose all through, but expected at this age, coped very well with the floor and moved well. Best Baby Puppy Bitch, Best Baby Puppy in Show.

2nd Franklin's Green Pearl Viva Las Vegas at Shinglebay (Imp Fra)

A black bitch, and although a few days older than first, much more the baby of the two, but in saying that she is very feminine although, with a lovely soft expression from a very gentle correct eye colour and shape, good in topline standing and moving, she's just still very loose in movement but I feel one to watch for the future.

Black 7½ year old girl of quality well balanced in head with good dark eye colour, small in ear lying flat inline with eyebrows, nice length of neck with built in muscle power onto well lay of shoulder with again good muscle, nice length of leg big tight feet well webbed, well held topline decent length of loin on to strong hindquarters strong hocks and straight in legs, coupled with a good length of tail.

2nd Pallett's Sandbears You're Only Jello with Sheenmarie, JW

7½ year old girl with sweet head, good shaped eye with correct colour, small in ear with correct placement, good muscle in a well set on neck, held her topline well on move, bit slack on standing, rather short in tail, strode out well but not the movement of one.

At 7 months old this lovely white and black baby was adorable, but such a baby and has a lot of growing to do but in saying that everything is there really to go when the time is right, beautiful eye with the correct colour and oval shape, ears a bit big but I am sure she's going to grow into them, nicely held topline on the move and standing, one of the best lengths of tail here today reaching well below the hocks which were straight and strong.

1st Leech's Mileoak Dee Day Darling
Best Puppy BitchBest White & Black Bitch

11 month old white and black with such maturity all through, nice balance of head already, small well shaped eye of dark colour, ears just set above the set of eyebrows, broadness of skull is beginning to come through with the desired width and squareness of muzzle, blackest of pigmentation, scissor bite and tight in lips. Muscle is coming on nicely, good bone throughout, large tight feet, she gave the winner of the puppy dog a good run for his money in the challenge, but I am sure that will change many times throughout her showing career. RPBIS.

2nd Lloyd's Stelamah Zafirah hefo Cewrirdwr

Another white and black of quality, at 11 months old she was giving her handler a very hard time, she was mischief on legs, I did manage to assess her in between the naughtiness and a moment when she listened to her handler, and I was not disappointed as it's all present and correct, just a little less mature than first in head, but with a good eye, ear and teeth placements, good bone all through, and when four legs were on the ground and all her body going in the same direction she moved well.

  • Class Winner: Newgraden Hope And Glory for Bridgestone
1st Groves' Newgraden Hope And Glory for Bridgestone

Brown bitch of 13 months of age with nice head of balanced proportions with good eye colour and almond shaped, triangle shaped small ear tight to the head, strong neck and good bone, well held topline and strong hind movement, a lot still to mature in this young lass, won this class on overall presentation.

2nd Popple's Mileoak Wishing On A Star

A black bitch of 16 months of age and about correct growth for her age, this black girl has a white flash on her nice wide chest, little loose in elbows but good size bone but still very feminine, well balanced in body ratios, just not the assertive movement of first but the floor was not the best to be moving dogs on.

3rd West's Wilbears She's A Corker

12 months old, and is still much a baby in every way, needs to tighten in her eyes, but of good colour, her head needs to broaden and develop, nice small ears of correct set, nice length of neck but needs more muscle, this young lass just needs more time to come into herself, which given the correct time I am sure she will.

1st Webb's Green Pearl Uniquely Barracechi (Imp Fra), JW

Sister to 2nd in Graduate Dog. This black young lady is just coming up to 2 years of age, with lots to like with a lovely balance of head, good in eye and ear placement, two dropped bottom teeth, wonderful pigment all through, would have liked a bit more on length of neck to carry her proud head, good in shoulders and depth of chest, well held topline carried through to strong rump and correct tail set.

2nd West's Stelamah Wildflower at Wilbears

Mother to 3rd in Junior Bitch and I can see where the lack of maturity comes in as although this bitch is 3½ years old there is till room for some maturity to come, we must realise that this breed is a slow maturer and some take a lot more time in getting there, and I feel this young lady is still maturing in places, needs a diet as there is a bit of weight being carried which did not help her today.

3rd Low's Harbourcove Once Upon A Time in Bearisland

A 20 month old girl, with a sweet expression, good eye colour and ear set, well balanced in head, nicely boned throughout, good double coat and decent length of tail, stood well for me to go over it was just the fact that the floor was just too much for her to handle and the fact that as she was going away the heater came on, which was not exactly quiet, only added to the finally belly crawl across the ring, such a shame.

A 2½ year bitch with a nicely balanced head, I would have liked a darker eye, but with a good mouth and scissor bite and well set on in ear placement, good width of chest and decent bone, nice double coat. I feel she just needs a little more time to mature all through, as not as well muscled as her age suggests she should be, but did enough on movement to secure this placement as she stood alone in this class.

1st Arkell's Camnoire She's A Star

A 4 year old small bitch, but with everything in the correct place and correctly placed, all female with the sweetest of heads, dark clear eyes of almond shape, correct set on ears which were small and tight to her head, well muscled in neck and strong shoulders leading to well boned legs and big round feet, well webbed, topline firm and well held, good depth of chest and showed good power in her hind quarters on the move, giving the impression of equal balance all through.

2nd Probyn's Oialt Climbing Back

A much larger black bitch of 2½ year old, but not the overall balance of first, she had a good head with correct eye and ear and scissor bite, good length of neck with well boned legs and big tight round well webbed feet, well held topline and good angles, another that liked her tail.

3rd Thompson's Saskinbears True Blue for Safeharbour, JW

I would have liked this bitch to have been a little better groomed all through, but in saying that she moved well, had a good expression with a kind soft eye and equal in depth and length of muzzle, held her topline and gait in rolling action.

When she entered the ring I thought this 4½ year old was going to be my winner, such lovely head proportions, with small tight correctly dark coloured eye, and with good small ear which lie close to her head, her head was of good size with arch in crown, well developed occipital bone, barely any stop, broad muzzle with no wrinkles, well open in nostrils and good pigmentation, good in forequarters and powerful in front legs, stood all four square and moved with purpose and power, in good clean coat with an oily feeling. Again another dog that liked her tail, but there was too much to like for me to penalise her. RBIS.

2nd Bull's King Of Helluland Blue Organza (Imp Svk)

A 4½ year old girl of quality all through, with a lovely head of correct proportions with good eye colour, placement and cleanness, also a good ear placement and size. Well muscled neck and good lay of shoulder leading on to well boned legs of decent length, well held topline just dropped slightly once standing, she also liked her tail.

3rd Popple's Mileoak Loch Noir, ShCEx

4½ year old girl of another nice head with correct proportions, would have liked a darker eye but good shape and ears correctly set on, small up against the other two, but that aside she was all feminine with a decent body with good bone and muscle, she moved straight out and back good topline.

1st Bull's Ch. Sandbears What Ya Fancy at Ravenshore

This nearly 5 year old fought hard to win this place, and by the skin of her teeth got it with tighter flews, although she could do with a bit tighter eye as well but her overall appearance was confirmed when I went over her with better muscle all through, good bone and well webbed large tight feet and good angulation, strong in hocks and a good tail carriage, which was a good length. She moved with purpose across and back and was very free with a nice roll of skin, good clean coat of expected texture of a water dog, dense undercoat with oily waterproof top coat.

2nd Coldwell's Twillin Gate Villustrious among Zentaur (Imp Bel), JW

A taller bitch of 2½ years of age, out of the top draw for head, the heat had gone up quite a bit and this young lady was showing she was hot with loser flews than first which was a shame as her head is spot on in eye shape colour and tightness, and her ear placement was as well. Not the muscle of first but then she's a lot younger and still to my mind not finished yet by any means, good lay of shoulder giving her the correct extension in front movement which is not overdone and keeping good balance front and back, nice tight feet well webbed and nice length of leg which helps the overall look and movement of a well-balanced dog throughout. Shame about her liking her tail, please try to persuade her to keep it lower.

I have judged this girl before, and the last time I did my notes said looking and moving very tiredly, my oh my she made up for that this time it was as if she'd got a new lease of life. I have always loved her head very feminine head with the correct eye colour, set and tightness of rims, small correctly placed ears with just the right amount of broadness across the head, skull and muzzle and the correct depth of the same can only give the correct balance throughout the head, scissor bite and tight flews, going on to strong well muscled neck with no dewlap having a good length, well muscled forelegs with good bone and lovely well webbed feet. Broad in back with brisket reach to elbows and no tuck up, good length of loin, powerful in hind quarters which powered her around the ring in style, and one that did not fly her tail. RBB.
