Sunday 06 April 2014 - Bryn Bach Park, Tredegar, Gwent

Hosted by Welsh Newfoundland Activity Group

Test Manager: Bev Clarke

"14 entries in total, this possibly would have been much more had the weather been better. As usual we had huge support from most of the WNAG members who worked very hard to make the event enjoyable for all.

Lovely to see people from as far as Jersey & Kent, which reminds me to say a massive 'thank you' to the judges who turned up to support us, particularly Jen and Pete Lewin who agreed to judge our L4 entry due to another (pre-agreed) judge letting us down last minute. This level test had to be re-arranged from the Saturday to the Sunday."

Judges Reports - Beginners Level

"Very wet, windy and muddy conditions, making down stays very difficult. The four dogs that passed did a good job given the conditions. Thanks to WNAG for the hospitality also thanks to the call steward."

Judges Reports - Level 1

"Thanks for asking me to judge; we had three dogs unfortunately only one passed. As whenever I come to Wales it rains ... and it did again! I'd like to thank the test manager and her club for looking after me with food, tea and soup, thanks."

Judges Reports - Level 2

"Out of 4 entries, two managed to succeed past the control and maneuvering section. The two dogs that went on the haul did a very good job although not necessarily experienced, both very promising teams.

A miserable day weather wise, cheered up by some nice handling and a well managed test, despite adversities. Thank you to WNAG for their hospitality and all the stewards for all their hard work."

Judges Reports - Level 4

"One rainy Sunday in Wales - nothing new there then - we had one team entered in L4. The team was much improved since I last judged them. It was a soggy course, which tested the dog and the handler as he had a job to stay on his feet! The dog was, to my mind, the brains of the partnership and should have been given much more of a role and left to find his own course.

Thank you to a very warm welcome from all involved in making this test a success and thank you to a very good steward, who without him, we would have not have found so much good terrain. Also thank you to the test manager keep up the good work, as we need more tests running so that we can enjoy our lovely dogs."
