A total of 34 dogs were tested at all levels at the Activity Centre in St Martin over the two test held this week. Level 4 and 3 Hauls were held in the woods at Victoria Towers then down the steep hill to Gorey, and onwards to the beach, so having several changes in surfaces and obstacles included rocks, steps and inclines.
The Level 2 Haul was held at Victoria Tower next to the Activity Centre which has wooded areas and different surfaces including tarmac.
L1 and Beginners, which were three Braces were held at the Activity Centre.
We had many passes at all levels; and lots of teams with a little more work that I've no doubt will be passing soon.
The weather was mixed with sunshine, very hot periods, cloudy skies and wind.
Thank you to all those that came to support our event, Judges, Stewards and helpers. A special thank you to Jen Lewin who came over to judge the higher levels and to Sara Davis who came over to assist with stewarding.
Thanks too to Amanda, Carol and Anita for all their help and support and to Paul and Ruth for supplying the bacon rolls, tea and coffee etc..

Our thanks to the JBDC for inviting us to judge at this excellent venue.
We commenced L2 towards the end of the day and in failing light. This meant that we were able to complete the control section and down stay as a group, we had to split the Maneuvering and Haul into two groups, one we tested that night and the rest on Thursday.
Thursday dawned a blustery day, but all four dogs worked well and passed. Seven dogs entered and one dog failed. For some, tight leads may be a problem moving on.

It was a fine day in Jersey, there were three entries for this level – all passed the Control Section, Down Stay and Maneuvering Section. The Haul comprised of some steep inclines and a walk on the beach, the two older dogs found the Haul very testing and did not complete the Back-Up, handlers (and dogs) decided to withdraw. The third dog completed the Haul for a well deserved pass.
Many thanks to JBDC, Stewards and everybody who made this an enjoyable test.

A lovely Venue, never been here before.(Jen)
A challenging course, which included all elements needed at this level, with lots of interesting obstacles including the pub and ice-cream shop! Dogs and handlers coped well with all the challenges, including today’s temperature.
Thank you to Test Manager Steve Pallot and team Jersey Big Dog Club. Special thanks to our co-judges and our stewards.
A good day was had by all.
