We judged 16 dogs at this level with 14 passes. There was some very nice handling and many of the teams will do well going through to the next levels.
Thank you all the stewards and Grangewaters for hosting this popular event. Jane and I would like to thank the SNC for asking us to judge.

The weather today was changeable to say the least! We had 11 entries with four passes. All dogs made a very good attempt and will surely pass this level soon. The age range of the dogs varied from 2 to almost 10 years, which was good to see. In many cases the dogs that did not quite make it only failed on one element and in some cases the other three elements were of a very high standard.
Thanks to the SNC for asking us to judge, to test manager, Alan, for a great job and to the Grangewaters crew for all their effort.
Section E

We had three entrants but sadly no passes. All passed the first element well, but there was varied results after that - some very impressive. All are capable of doing well, but as typical newfs, they make their own minds up on the day!
Sympathetic handling and good commands all round.

I'd like to say a big thank you to Graham for asking me to judge. A thank you to my fellow judge Steve, and a big thank you to the girls at Grangewaters for all the tea to keep us going.
We had 14 entries, some not quite there yet but some really good passes. So again I say thank you to everyone there for a great day. Well done.

Our first time judging together and an enjoyable experience as the weather was fine and we found ourselves in complete agreement on all of our decisions. We would like to thank the stewards, 'drowning stranger' and helmsman for doing an excellent job.
We did notice that some of the handlers were calling for an early restart when they still hadn't accrued the points they would lose automatically for the restart. If the dog is going to need physically resetting then indeed a request for the restart is in order but if there is a chance of a dog continuing the exercise without those automatic 5 points then consider carrying on until a restart is the best option.
Only two passes today, both really good and one where we didn't deduct a single point! The remaining five had mixed results, some exercises executed well and others where it just wasn't going to happen on this day ... but that is par for the course and there will be another day.
Thank you to the SNC for the invitations, to the Test Manager, Alan, for a well organized event and to the Grangewaters helpers for the refreshments.
