A big thank you to all the judges, helms and all the stewards for their hard work over the two days. We had a great turn out for the first water test of the year, with 62 tests entered and 35 passes over the five sections.
The weather was quite good over the two days, sunshine and cloud which was ideal for the dogs. Nice to see some new faces and of corse all our old friends over the weekend.
See you all again soon.

We would like to thank the SNC for asking us to judge Section A today.
We had 23 dogs to judge with some great passes and team work, especially those participating for the first time. It is good to see so many dogs in this section we are sure the majority will go on to attain good results in the higher levels.
We are grateful to the Grangewaters Team for hosting this event and for keeping us fed and watered.
Thank you to all the stewards for all their help.

There were 13 entered at this level and 12 worked - sadly there were only three passes. There was some excellent work from most of the entrants, who were let down on just one exercise, usually the stranger or the controlled swim. Some lovely steady swims were a joy to watch.
As this is the first water test of the year I guess some dogs need a bit more practice to get into the swing of things again. We think they all enjoyed themselves anyway. Look forward to seeing the near passes again when hopefully they will have cracked their 'sticking point'.
Thanks to all the cheerful stewards and the test team for this lovely venue.

Some exercises completed to a high standard, but unfortunately no passes on the day. Exercises 2 and 3 (hidden rope and directed retrieve) completed by all three entrants. The first exercise (life buoy to stranger) was an issue for all.
Handlers need to be calm and not re-command the dog when doing as instructed. That said there were some excellent examples of verbal redirection and two dogs completed a perfect boat to boat.
Very well done to all entrants, all of which are very close to passing this top level.

Thanks for asking us to judge Section B. We judged 12 dogs with three passes.
Weather has been kind to us, although it did rain as we left home this morning.
We like to thank Grangewaters for looking after us with tea and food.
We expect the ones that didn't quite make it to fly through next time, as all so close for such an early test in the season.
Thanks again for having us.

We had a nice day with good weather for a water test, we judged six dogs with four very nice passes. The two who didn't make it had problems with only one exercise, which we feel they will overcome and be successful next time. The standard that dogs are reaching seems to be getting higher all the time.
Many thanks to Test Manager Tina and the Grangewaters group for the hospitality and superb lunch. Many thanks to my fellow Judge Kay, I am certain she enjoyed judging with me!
Certainly did Dave! Thanks Tina and Team Grangewaters, it was a great weekend, glad we were part of it.
Great to see dogs and owners enjoying themselves at these tests.

We had six dogs with three passes. The three passes were very good. The sticking points for the 'not there yet' were the D1 and D4 elements. They will get there with a little more training.
The team work with handlers, dogs and stewards was the best we have seen for some time. Well done all. Thank you for making this a very enjoyable test to judge.
